What happened!

It wasn't all that long ago I was in the hospital with this sweet baby. Wait. That sounds familiar... *ahem.
Eleven years ago today, I was sitting in a very uncomfortable hospital bed, completely oblivious to anything but the cries of our precious baby. She was our second child, first daughter. And I was so overwhelmed! I didn't know how to raise a girl! And I knew she was going to need me to know.

I thought I would have time to figure it all out. But low and behold, she is a fast grower! I blinked my eyes for one second, and she is now eleven.

And I'm not sure I've taught her enough. Her most precious qualities have not come from me. She is ever patient. Slow to anger. Gracious, kind, and loving. She thinks of others before herself, and lives to serve those around her. Now that I think about it, maybe I should just keep my nose out of it. I might ruin what God is knitting together.

Happy Birthday my precious daughter.

Beth

  1. I know. It happens so fast and pulls our hearts in so many directions at once. Bitter sweet moments of motherhood. Happy Birthday to a lovely girl! I hope it's a great day of celebrating!

  2. Please tell her Happy Birthday for me. She is truly one of the most loving and loveable young ladies I have ever met -- beautiful inside and out! Annie
